Look no further for the perfect Castle Neuschwanstein hotel!
The southern part of Germany, known as Bavaria, is truly a stunning place and I encourage everyone at some point in their life to rent a German car and do an epic road trip on the German Alpine Road. And, when you do this, you should really consider Hotel Das Rübezahl, a top notch German luxury hotel. It is well-situated in the region and serves as a good Castle Neuschwanstein hotel (it’s a 5 minute drive from the castle), and is cozy and posh. It’s exactly what you imagine for a German mountain retreat. I loved every minute of my stay and I even sent friends and family there afterwards!

Here are some highlights of Hotel Das Rübezahl:
It is COZY.
I went in November and even though the weather outside was not great, inside was lovely with candles lit and chic Alpine-style decor. There were fireplaces, bookcases and antler chandeliers with lots of seating areas to relax and have a beer. I walked in the doors and immediately felt stress melt away.
The stunning surroundings
The hotel is nestled in the mountains with gorgeous views of the Alps and green pastures. It’s really impossible not to feel relaxed. There is a picturesque outdoor pool to use in the summer and hot spas for the colder temperatures. The stars will shine bright and you’ll be able to see castles glowing in the mountains, straight out of a fairytale! It’s truly dream-like.
One of the best parts about the hotel is that it right off the German Alpine Road and SO close to Neuschwanstein and Hohenschwangau Castles. You can drive a few short minutes and be at one of the most famous castles in the world! There are also tons of beautiful lakes near by (check out Lake Alpsee) and hiking trails. The hotel can help you with biking, hiking, boating, rafting and even paragliding! Cycling through the foothills of the Alps? Yes, please! You can check out their activities page to see what they have to offer closer to the time of your stay.
The spa here is really impressive and perfect for when you get back from the outdoor activities in the area. Beyond the services, they have a really pretty spa area with steam rooms, saunas (with views!), whirlpools and even a salt grotto! Book your services ahead and make sure you spend some time in this top-notch spa.
We loved the dinner buffet that they offered. Even though it was a buffet, it was really well done and high-end. The room was really cozy (in keeping with the theme) and they take pride in their culinary offering, which they should! They offered many different options to complete a Bavarian dinner with sausages, mustards, plums, meats and perfect wine and beer pairings. The food was delicious. We didn’t get to try their outdoor dining since it was cold when we were there, but I know they get great reviews on that as well. And of course, there are views for days out there.
Room Tip: My room was BEYOND. They upgraded me to RosenReich room and we had a fireplace, huge bed, spa bathroom and best of all: Views of the fairytale castles from our balcony. Request this room and you won’t be disappointed!
Comment with questions and I hope you get to experience this slice of happiness in the German Alps!
